Oyen Up In The Tree

Oyen, the naughty house cat at Ma's kampong was caught up in the trees early last Monday when Pa sent me to Rantau. We were all puzzled as to what 'oyen' was trying to prove by climbing up the rambutan tree but he surely paid the price...could not find his way down.

Wan and Atok tried hard to lure him down but failed. Finally, it was a swamp of those pesky wasp that sent oyen hurriedly down the tree. Bet he could not even believe he did it...getting down the tree in the fastest time ever.

I'm sure oyen has learned his lesson well not to do what a cat should not do.

Here are shots of the misadventure of oyen.

Thats oyen being spotted high up in the trees

Zoom in to see the fear in his eyes

Wan and I looked up, worried of his safety

Trying to point a way down for oyen but he was too scared to move a muscle

What a start to the day for me.

Pasar Ramadan Rembau

It is the month of Ramadan and the traditional Pasar Ramadan is a must have and common sight in just about every town and even village nationwide...Rembau; Pa's hometown is no exception.

Last Sunday, 23 September 2007, we headed for Rembau to buka puasa with Wan. We left Seremban after zohor stopping by the infamous Leman Dawi cendol stall to 'tapau' cendol for the evening buka puasa. The cendol has been pre-packed in what they called package; the cendol, santan and sweetener packed separately at RM8 per package. Don't worry...they are generous when packing the cendol...enough for a family of 4...adults.

Still early and the usual crowd is not here yet

That's the 'boss' himself posing Pa's

Wan did not expect us to show up on a Sunday afternoon; Pa did not want to trouble her in preparing meals if we had informed her of our coming back. So, it was a great excuse to visit the Pasar Ramadan in Rembau town which is now relocated next to the Masjid Jamek. Hmm...hope the mosque is as active as the Pasar Ramadan.

We were at the pasar early to avoid the crowd

Our first stop at a stall run by Pa's distant cousin to buy some dishes

A samosa stall caught our attention.

There are many of these stalls selling all kind of drinks

The murtabak is among the favourite in Ramadan

Another stall also run by Pa's relative...we got some FOC food compliment of the wife (in pink tudung)

Across the stall, there is the nasi ayam...but we had enough food for buka puasa.

Soon, we were making our way out of the Pasar Ramadan area

That evening we buka puasa with lots of food. Fortunately, Bang Long came later with Bang Teh (Zaid) who had to get a ride from us to Seremban after missing his bus. They helped finish the food which would have been wasted...or rather become Wan's ayam kampong ration.

We arrived at Bang Teh's school gate almost 11pm. As a result, he had to walk all the way from the guard house as no car is allowed at that late hours.

Just before midnite, we arrived at our Seremban home with food brought from kampong and pasar Ramadan for Sahur later.

Berbuka at Alamanda

Last Saturday, Pa decided to treat us (Ma actually) for berbuka at Alamanda, Putrajaya. It was kind of nostalgic for them as about this time last year, they had a berbuka...but just the 2 of them. This time around...there's me to keep them company and busy.

We left Seremban almost 4pm after all the necessary rituals Ma had to go through in getting my stuff packed. In the meantime, Pa took the opportunity for a quick shut eye.

We had to go to Kajang first to exchange the baju kurung Ma bought last week. Somehow, she realised she didn't quite like the colour or was it the design.

The newly opened building name and logo

After making the exchange, we headed for Alamanda, Putrajaya. Despite making several trips there, Pa missed the entrance to Alamanda. We eventually reached the south parking area after 6 pm. After their late Asar prayers, we made our way towards Rasa...the eateries area of Alamanda. As usual, the whole place was already packed with customers waiting for breaking fast. We decided to return after Magrib prayers.

We found an empty bench to wait for the first batch of buka puasa crowd to finish.

Wonder what I was pointing at?

Its the balloon I see every kid holding forcing Pa & Ma to look for the balloon seller.

There it is...now I'm spoilt for choice.

Eventually, the penguin ballon became my choice

...and I made sure it doesn't leave my sight!

Johnny's was the place Pa & Ma decided to have their meal, a branch similar to the one in Jusco Seremban. It was already 8pm when we were finally ushered to a vacant table by the waiter. What did Pa & Ma have?

Fried rice...

...with tomyam

The place had a good ambience...just look at the lighting on the ceiling

Soon it was dessert time....and I could not wait...hurry up Ma!

Ok my dear...one for you...and one for me

While walking towards the shopping area, Pa spotted a nice dark wall as backdrop for our quick photo shoot...with my penguin balloon.

I had a nice time there...just look at me fooling around with Ma

We left Alamanda, Putrajaya after some window shopping. Now, that sounds like there'll be a return trip here. Count me in, Pa...and Ma. I'll be more than happy to accompany both of you. Just get me another balloon and I'll be a good girl.

Another Saturday With Pa

Its another Saturday with Pa...just like last week. Hmmm...that is very fast; felt just like yesterday.

Ma left the 2 of us about 7.35 am to get to work before 8. My special porridge has been prepared early by Ma. All Pa has to do is just blend the stuff and warm it up for me...easy stuff isn't it Pa?

Pa followed the routine just like last Saturday...feeding, bathing, changing nappies etc etc. By 10am everything is done and we had time to kill...before my noon nap.

Pa decided to take some snapshot of me outside. Here are some to share...

Smile...you are being photographed! Just look at my soft toy collection.

This polka dot camel...remember? Got it at Ikea

Boredom? Nope...just a little tired.

My sing-along vcd playing the itsy bitsy spider song

Had my afternoon nap after the song only to wake up when Ma returned home from work. It was a good half Saturday with Pa...and Ma is giving her approval cum endorsement to Pa.

Browsing at Kajang

Last Sunday, 16th September 2007 we were at Kajang to find stuff for Ma for this coming Raya. Pa and I bought ours in Nilai last week...so this is Ma's trip.

In Kajang, its Metro that controls the commercial area. The big shopping centre is called...Metro Kajang and Metro Point.

Follow our picture story below.

The newly opened Metro Point with a Chinese Singing Talent Contest in the foyer

Another view of the foyer area

Pa got Ma's attention but not mine

While Ma makes her selection, I was relaxing at a nice little corner of the shop with seating area

Hmmm...what's taking Ma too long?

Keeping busy while Ma is busy making her choice

We also stopped by the older Metro Kajang

Now this does not look like Kajang...yup! we detoured to Balakong Jaya Jusco

...for buka puasa actually while window shopping

After berbuka and Magrib at the surau, we headed back to our Seremban home.

An Evening At Nilai

After the Sunday lunch at Man Tomyam, Pa headed for Nilai, the shoppers haunt for cloth and stuff. I was well in my dreamland all the way there.

Passing Nilai township Pa noticed the Perodua dealer there and decided to drop by to see the Viva up close. Before long, Ma was already filling up the form for a test drive on the Premium Viva which she cherished and enjoyed every minute of the opportunity to be behind the wheels of the cutie.

From there, we went straight to Nilai 2 for what else if not the cloth and clothing.

The rest of the story is best told in the following pics...

The dashboard...and Ma's barefoot on the pedal

Ma beaming with joy behind the wheels...easy...easy Ma!

Listening to the salesman talk...so how Puan?

Our next stop at the new Giant...a little quiet though

The play area caught my attention

With minimal persuasion, I was already on one of the ride...and its free!

When we got to the Nilai 2 area, it was late in the evening

Pa and Ma stopped at the mosque for their duty to the Almighty

The mosque at sunset

We returned home with something for the coming Raya Puasa.
