Day 1...at Rantau

On the first day of Hari Raya Puasa recently, we were at Ma's kampung in Rantau. Everyone were up very early that Saturday morning despite staying up late the night before to fill the jars with kueh raya and stuff.

Lemang and rendang; the tradisional Negri delicacies for Raya has been prepared the night before by Wan. Nasi Empit & Kuah Kacang; another popular raya food was also prepared as an option for guests. The 'kuih tunjuk' has been placed in the serve jars and arranged nicely on the table.

Yes we are set for a great Raya...and the celebration has just begun.

This is the kampung surau where Atuk, Wan, Pa and Uncle Li went for their Raya prayers which started at 9.00am.

The men in the main surau while the ladies at the verendah listening to the young Imam briefing before prayers started.

Howszat for a 'sedondon' mother-daughter look?

Pa looking at the ladies in blue

Atuk and Wan were sporting to pose for the camera

My Kajang cousins with their antics

We went for Raya visit to Wan Alang with the Kajang group

...followed by satay feast at Wan Acik's house; compliments from Kajang

That 'big' lady is Wan Acik...Wan's sister. She is not so mobile due to her weight and aching legs

By evening, we had packed our bags to spend Raya at Rembau.

yey... yea... hari raya sudah tiba...ni gambo Day 1 kat kampong Ma.

biru...itulah warna tema tahun ini... pagi raya di rantau...gambo sekeluarga (minus Along & Family yg balik petang Raya tu) kat tangga fevret.

Nampak gaya nye terpaksa ler Pa take over episod seterus nya sebab Ma tersangat ler bizi. Sessi bergambar ada yang dalam rumah dan ada yang outdoor. Maklum ler Hari Raya and semua orang pun pakai baju baru yang lawa-lawa. Rugi ler kalau tak abadikan dalam kamera digital Pa tu.

Kita sambung dalam posting baru lah...

Syawal Just Round The Corner

Raya is coming...yabbadabadooo!

Its Thursday, 11th October 2007 today which means we are only 2 days away from 1 Syawal...Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. Is it not a good reason to smile like this?

This time last year, I was only about a week old...nothing much that I could do but eat and sleep; just the normal things babies do. Occasionally, I would cry out for attention to get my nappies changed or when my milk time is due.

I'm very excited to celebrate Hari Raya this Saturday. I get to try on my 'Baju Kurung'...yes...Baju Kurung specially tailored for me in the Rembau theme colour.

As for food...hmmm...maybe I'd just skip the lemang and rendang for the moment.

This' tepung pelita' is one of my favourite over the Ramadhan month. Pa & Ma and occasionally Atuk Rantau would buy these from the Pasar Ramadhan...just for me.

I'm blessed to have these loving and caring people around me. Pampered? Maybe. I have no complains being treated this way. Love it!

It taste really yummy and I could finish two of them in one sitting...if only Ma would allow it.

Hope the weather is good this weekend. Its just a little inconvenient to do visiting on a rainy day.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to all my blog readers. If you have to travel, please do so with safety in mind...at all times! Enjoy the holidays and the great food.

IOI Mall Puchong

Last Saturday, 6th October 2007 we were at IOI Mall in Puchong; for the first time. We have passed this place many times on our way back to Seremban but never had the opportunity to stop by. Its just the timing that is not quite right.

We finally made it, with Ma's little nudge on Pa and recalling the positive remarks Mama KL made of this place. We lost our way when getting there; its just awkward coming from Elite Highway side but managed to reach the place eventually, thanks to a roadside trader who directed us back in the right direction.

The IOI complex has Jusco as their anchor tenant; that's where we we heading. Being the last weekend before Hari Raya Puasa, the shoppers were mostly Malays getting stuff for the big day this coming Saturday...we were one of them.

Let the pics below tell the rest of our trip there.

A quick pit stop at Petronas for petrol and a little pose from Ma and I

It was already 6pm on a gloomy Saturday evening when we arrived at the parking area.

...and I am all smiles

Our next pit stop was the baby room to get me changed...its been a cold trip.

Tarraa...I'm ready for the action, lets go Pa & Ma

While Ma roam around the ladies section, Pa & I decided to rest our tired feet at the complex bench.

Pa & Ma decided to perform their Maghrib prayers first after breaking fast since all the seats have been taken by hungry shoppers at the eateries. I had my usual Ma's Porridge while Pa & Ma had nasi lemak.

The Hari Raya decor in the background...but I'm too busy with my Jumbo and Spongebob

On stage below, there was a cultural performance; a compulsory free entertainment for shoppers

Jusco was open till midnite but we left half an hour earlier...a final pose before leaving IOI Mall

We reached Seremban an hour later stopping by a stall in Ampangan to get food for sahur. As usual, I was in dreamland all the way from Puchong.

Thanks Pa & Ma...I love you both.

22 Ramadhan 1428 Hijrah ...I'm One

22 Ramadhan 1428 (Thursday)

Today I am 1 year old...ikut Islamic calender. I was brought to this world this day last Ramadhan.

What can I say but Syukur Alhamdulillah for these things that Allah has bestowed on me...

...that I have a wonderful and loving Pa & Ma who tirelessly care for me;

... that I am healthy;

...that I have great Atuk (only one left) and Wans (I have 2 grandmas);

...that I have great uncles and aunties; though most of them I seldom get to see;

...that I have cheerful and friendly cousins who would be around me for company;

...that I have a house I call home to shelter me from rain and sun;

...that I have food and water at just about anytime I want;

...that I have a peaceful nation;

...and the list can go on and on...

But most of all...I would just say Alhamdulillah to The Almighty for all these things that I get to enjoy...and Alhamdulillah for this life He has given me.

Footnote: Both pics taken on my 1st Birthday of Ma and Wan Rantau with me and my latest soft toy...spongebob; a present from Ma. Thanks Ma.

KLIA...Bang Long flying back to UK

Last Friday, 28 September, we were at KLIA to send Bang Long off. He's flying back to UK after spending the summer holidays here.

It was the first time I set foot in KLIA...too bad, I was not in good shape then due to fever. So, the white stuff on my forehead is the 'cool fever' to bring down my body temperature.

We left for KLIA after breaking fast at Ma's kampung in Rantau taking the highway and exiting at Nilai to join the Salak Tinggi route to KLIA. We reached the airport about 9.30pm and rendezvous with redt of the group near check-in counter D.

Mak Lang and family (excluding Kak Ngah & Abang Afiq) were there with Wan. Pak Su and family were also there while Mama arrived half hour after we did.

The terminal was not busy as most students have gone back earlier. At 11.00pm Bang Long went through the final check for his flight back.

As for us...we went our ways back to our homes...sleepy and tired. We reached Rantau after midnite.

Come view the pics taken when we were at KLIA.

Just look at me...gloomy and moody...no thanks to the fever!

Not even in the mood to 'salam' Bang Long

The ladies in waiting...Wan & Mak Lang flanked by Bang Long's friend mum & grandmother

Abang Luqman is as usual the most active person at the terminal

My mood is still not there yet...sorry guys!

Hmmm...Bang Long check-in at 'Enrich' counter...thanks to his friend's mum

Bang Long explaining to Mama his plans while Pak Su listens

Kids are just kids...they wanna have some fun...if only I'm well enough to join.

A shot with Wan

On our way back to the car park...cost us RM9 for the parking fees!

Perhaps Pa & Ma will take me to the airport again to see the planes during the daytime and when I am feeling much better.
