Wan Rembau Masuk Hospital

Wan Rembau i.e Pa's mum was warded at Tampin Hospital last Friday 27, July 2007. Pa was in KL...work matters when Mak Lang called to break the news. Since it was late, Pa decided to make the trip to Tampin the following day, Saturday.

Come Saturday, we shoot off south after lunch stopping by at Pa's kampung to join Mak Lang and family watching over the house which had to undergo a major facelift after some hungry and insatiable termites had made a meal of the woodworks! That story shall be in another posting...hopefully.

Anyway, all of us left kampung for Tampin Hospital to visit Wan in the evening. Alhamdulillah...Wan was in good hands of the hospital; in Ward No. 2. At the time of this posting Wan has been given a clean bill of health and discharged on the afternoon of 31st July 2007. She cannot go back to kampung since the house is in a big mess due to the major repair works going on which should drag for another week or so. In the meantime, Wan will be at Mak Lang's place as before...in good care of Mak Lang & family.

Here are pics Pa captured over the period Wan was in hospital.

Grand frontage to the hospital

Good concept with garden between blocks

Even the mops are colour coded...is it?

The evening meal cum dinner Wan is enjoying...I do the same with my 'bubur nasi'

A closer look of what was served for dinner...'bubur nasi' too, fish soup & 'terung'

This definitely is not hospital food...Mak Lang brought this for Wan...asam pedas ikan parang

My cousin..Kak Sofia is always around to entertain me

Thats the oxygen tank...just on standby only

A stray companion for Wan...Kak Sofia's favourite pet

The garden concept and breastfeeding friendly hospital...a picture for the album

They even have a gazebo...I'm impressed.

So, all in all Wan spent 5 days and 4 nights at the hospital...about the same time Pa's car gat admitted in the mechanic's garage. Now, all is well and we can carry on with our daily lives and activities as usual.

From Datsun 120Y to Saga Aeroback

Today, 24th July 2007, Pa is no more driving the 'old junk' which has been replaced with a Proton Saga Aeroback.

Last night Pa went to see his mechanic at his home to check status of his car. Unfortunately, its still wasn't ready...some mix up with the engine mounting. Seems that the auto and manual mounting is non-interchangeable. So, the car has to spend another night with the foremen until the proper mounting is obtained and fixed.

Having driven the 120Y since Friday night, Pa thought he had enough of the car. Knowing the mechanic has another car, a Proton Saga Aeroback, Pa requested to swap with the 120Y. The excuse was that Pa had to see some officials from the Government department today, and it would not look good if Pa is seen driving the 120Y.

Fortunately, the mechanic agreed and Pa cam back in the Proton Aeroback...to Ma's delight. The car is now ready for action but Pa is not. Having so much activities today, he was too tired to send the Aeroback and collect his 'rejuvenated' car.

Hopefully, Pa would be able to collect his car tomorrow and that all is well.

The 'damage'?...just over 1K as predicted with a year 'gentleman' warranty by the mechanic.

Yabbadabadoo...we are getting our car back!

Datsun 120Y

Pa's car was sent to the mechanic on Friday night. Preliminary assessment indicated the need for top overhaul, replacement of engine mounting, oil seal and possibily the brake oil pump. That sounds serious and would probably exceed 1K in repair cost.

The car would only be ready on Monday night and in replacement, the mechanic allowed Pa usage of his old junk...a Datsun 120Y...known as the JPJ and driving school car of yester year. The mechanic assured Pa that the car is roadworthy despite its physical outlook.

As they say, its better than nothing...so Pa accepted the offer. That night Pa came back in the old Datsun 120Y to the amusement of Ma...reminds her of arwah Atuk Rembau's Mazda 808.

We are now the proud user of a 'vintage' Datsun 120Y. The photos below was taken by Pa for rememberance before we send it back to the mechanic tomorrow night.

The logo still intact

Full frontal?

Driver's side view...whats that 'injury'?

Ooops...its the signal light being taped to the body

Driver's view of the dashboard...just look at the steering wheels!

The air-cond is still functioning...hmmm...thats a plus point

The seats are pretty good

We have taken the Datsun 120Y back to Rantau on Saturday and to Seremban Tesco today (Sunday). Its been tested in the heavy rain and hot sun...passed under both conditions. Its a mechanic's car afterall. Ma has also grown to like the car; I just follow suit. Tomorrow night, hopefully Pa's car would be ready as the neighbours have been curious and asking what really happened to our previous car. Its human nature to have negative thoughts when seeing drastic change in our lifestyle.

We all have enjoyed the use of the car and thankful that the mechanic has allowed us to use it over the weekend until our car is ready.

Jenguk-Jenguk Wan & Atuk Rantau

Today, 21st July, 2007 the 3 of us went back to Rantau...Ma's kampung to check on the fruits; if any is left by the marauding pests (ooops!).

Pa's car has been sent to the workshop for some overhauling works (sounds major). We talk about that in another post. Anyway, we left our Seremban house in the mechanic's car about 12 noon since Pa had an appointment to see a colleague...work matters. So, Pa dropped Ma & I at the Pacific Supermart on his way for his appointment.

By 1.30pm Pa was already back to pick us up. The heavy downpour had just stopped when Pa arrived...hmmmm...good timing! We stopped for lunch at a nearby eatery before heading back to Rantau. A quick pit stop to buy some 'kuih' and we were already on our way in the rain again.

Wan, Atuk, Mami and Uncle Li were home and happy to see us back...and equally surprised to see the car we drove.

After dinner we headed back to our Seremban home...with some of the fruits picked earlier by Atuk. Tired but happy.

The rain leaving its mark on the 'pucuk ubi'

The rambutans...partially ripe.

So is the rambai...the langsat is gone last week

This are the rambutans and manggis earlier picked by Atuk

This is not 'air sirap' for sale but just red coloured water to scare the monkeys...a tip someone shared with Pa.

...and this is what happened...the monkeys actually went for it! Some tips...

The durians? Here it is...turned into 'tempoyak'.

And here I am...with the satisfied look...after balik kampung.

Again, thanks Pa and Ma...not forgetting Wan, Atuk, Mami and Uncle Li at kampung.

State Holiday - Birthday of Yang Dipertuan Besar NS

Thursday, 19 July 2007...

Today happens to be a state holiday for NS in conjunction with the Birthday of Yang Dipertuan Besar NS. Nothing much can be planned since its just a day; furthermore Friday is another working day for Pa.

The 3 of us spent our time together at home. As usual, Pa would always record events with his camera. Here's the selected ones.

A cheeky smile from me

Now...wait a minute

Whats that Pa?

I might as well enjoy my sing-a-long cd since Pa & Ma are so busy.

Ooops...no camera please!

Lunch was prepared by Ma...home cooked. It rained a few times in the afternoon and evening...so outdoor activity is a definite NO. In the evening the 3 of us went out to buy my milk powder and while we were out, Pa stopped by at the soup stall to pack dinner...mihun soup.

By 10.00pm Ma and I called it a day...except Pa in front of the laptop updating his blog and surfing.

Musim Buah Sudah Mula

Ni ler akibat manusia yang rakus menerokai ruang mereka...so its pay back time untuk mereka ler pulak. Tak boleh ler nak komplen.

Ni siri gambar baru-baru ni yang Pa rakamkan...

Salah satu musuh tradisi...

Tu macam Pak Pi aje...kat mana tu?

Waahh...tinggi nye dia atas pokok langsat tu! "Hati-hait" kata Atuk & Wan

Ni ler langsat yang Pak Pi nak ambil tu

Skill jolok manggis pakai sebelah tangan oleh Pak Pi

Lihat hasil nye kat hujung galah tu

Duku langsat masih muda lagi

Rambai pun macam tu gak

Nangka ni gak yang tak ikut musim nak berbuah

Macam pisang ni

Bunga kantan ni buat ulam pun sodap...yang ni dah kembang

Setakat ni Atuk atau Wan akan jaga rumah...make sure musuh-musuh tu tak makan buah. Kadang-kadang tak terkawal gak...jadi rezeki mereka laa.

I am 9 month today

Sunday, 15th July 2007.

I am 9 month today...Alhamdulillah life is good with Pa & Ma. Nothing really special planned for me; after all its not my first year! Today we all went back to our Seremban home after spending about 4 months at Ma's kampung in Rantau.

On the way back, we stopped at JJ to buy my stuff...disposable napkins. It was starting to drizzle when we got there. We were fortunate to get parking space quite easily and not too far from the building.

Before heading for the supermarket area, we went window shopping. Also stopped by at MPH to get some reading material for me.

Here's our brief Sunday outing...

I will miss this scene in kampung

...and these.

...sob! sob! I will miss kampung...

Enjoying a ride...on Pa

Now lets try another ride

This is really fun

Its okay Ma...I can manage

Ok...ok....thats enough for the day. We need to go home Alisya

Protest?....Nah! Just tired after the ride.

So, there goes another day and I am already 9 months. In 3 months time I'll be a year. Looking forward to that...which would be during the Hari Raya month.

Hmmm...
